Concrete

Concrete Dances

A collaboration with Leigh Cameron

Concrete Dances is a series of concrete structures decorated with minimal, linear female nudes launched at London Design Week at the Oxo Tower, 2015 and The Other Art Fair at The Truman Brewery, London 2015.

The nude designs are striking in their simplicity, and are augmented by their conversion to concrete.

This project was conceived as a way of merging the soft fluidity of Charlotte’s drawings with Leigh’s strong, bold and expert use of concrete.

Concrete Dances saw Charlotte’s designs ingrained into concrete to create a subtle 3D relief. Leigh is renowned for his mission to redefine concrete from it’s stereotype as a commercial, residential and industrial material to one of intelligent design and contemporary art form.

The soft fluidity of Charlotte’s elegant drawings are emboldened by their conversion to concrete. It is a merge that challenges the boundaries of both mediums to create a delicately industrial aesthetic.
